Main services undertaken include vessel condition surveys, vessel pre-purchase inspections, safety audits, project management of vessels under construction and conversion, development of repair specifications, contract negotiations, new build design development and review of vessels, plan approval construction supervision and guarantee claim follow-up and operational support.
Bush Marine has extensive experience in ship lay-up and re-activation procedures. Steve Bush was the lead techncial author in the production of the 'Lloyds Register Guidelines for Laying-up Ships'. These guidlines have since been taken as guidelines for many leading industry bodies including P&I clubs and class socieities. Other industry lay-up guides now availible by West of England P&I, Bibby, BMT and Steamship Mutual Club used the LR document extensively for source material.
Additionally Steven Bush is a fully accredited CAP surveyor able to carry out surveys on behalf of 'ABS' American Bureau of Shipping. CAP (Condition Assessment Program) are volantary surveys initially developed by the oil majors to assess the continued fitness of older tonnage to carry their cargoes safely. A CAP survey is conducted on tankers (oil and gas) normally starting between 2nd & 3rd special survey and involves a detailed survey over and above the class special survey.
